I have been married to my husband for almost 12 years. We have two wonderful daughters; Evelyn is 7 and Anastasia is 3 years old. Every weekend and over vacations we enjoy time together adventuring and enjoying one anothers company. Both girls are involved in sports which both my husband and I coach. I love the field of education and was destined to work in the field as so many of my family members do as well.
I have wanted to become a teacher for as long as I can remember. I originally set forth my path to become a general education teacher. However, after I was married and continuing my college education I worked as an instructional assistant in a special day class. I absolutely feel in love with this path so much so that I knew from that moment on that I wanted to get a special education credential. I continued for several more years working as and instructional assistant and behavior technician while finishing up my bachelors degree. I then worked as an intern teacher while obtaining my Education Specialist credential. I was so fascinated by the field that I continued my education and earned a Master's Degree in Special Education.
This is my 5th year teaching the 3rd-5th grade moderate/severe SDC class here at Highland Elementary. I love to watch our program continue to grow. It is amazing to me how the students on our campus really embrace our students and mentor in a positive way.
